Mothman calls himself a "Moth of the People" and he is tired of humans being bothered by scam callers who are looking to steal their information.
In the last 10-15 years there has been an uptick scam related calls by criminals who are seeking personal and financial information. In 2021 alone, Americans lost $29.8 billion. Mothman has received many of these calls and is tired of it.
The Machination Times received a lead that Mothman has taken steps to help slow down these calls. We were able to catch up with him at Beaver Dam Creek County Park in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, to investigate further.
"Like many of my fellow American citizens I have been called countless times from scammers trying to trick me into giving up my personal information for their financial gain. It gets old; so, I decided to take action against these scum buckets."
Mothman went on to explain that he has taken drastic steps.
"I began to research how these people work with call bots. That led me to create a phone application that gives targeted victims two options via text message when called by a scammer. They will be able to do the following: One, circle the call back on the callers to jam their lines, or send the call to the bots I created to harass them with questions."
Mothman said that there are a few issues that need to be worked out in the software but he is extremely excited about the product. He stated that there will be a small service fee to pay for continual cost of operating the computers.
The service is expected to go live in the summer time.
